As NBA superstar Michael Jordan retires from basketball to pursue a career in baseball, Mister Swackhammer, the proprietor of the extraterrestrial theme park “Moron Mountain”, is seeking new attractions for his failing park. He sends his minions, the “Nerdlucks”, to capture the Looney Tunes, who reside deep below the surface of the Earth. The Looney Tunes retaliate by challenging the Nerdlucks to a basketball game (seeing as that they aren’t very tall) to decide their fate. To prepare for the game, the Nerdlucks head to Earth and steal the talents of the NBA’s best players Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson and Shawn Bradley. The Nerdlucks used the stolen talent to become “the Monstars”, gigantic creatures that the Looney Tunes are likely unable to defeat by themselves.

The Looney Tunes summon a reluctant Michael, who insists that he no longer plays basketball, to aid them, and his wormy and rotund assistant Stan Podolak (Wayne Knight). Along with them, a female rabbit named Lola Bunny, who has more experience in B-ball than the rest of the Tunes. Soon after, the game between the Looney Tunes and the Monstars begins, and were already trailing by half-time. In the second half, Bugs and Michael used psychology by giving the other Tunes the “Secret Stuff”, which was nothing more than a bottle of tap water. They managed to surpass the Monstars, until Swackhammer called a time-out. Michael confronted him and gave him a convincing offer: if the Tunes lose, he’ll serve in the aliens’ theme park. Not wanting to pass up the deal, he orders his team to crush them. The Looney Tunes were roughed up by the brutal playing style of the Monstars until only Michael, Bugs, Lola and Daffy were left standing, leaving them short one player. Bill Murray, being friends with the producer of the film, was able to enter the Looney Tunes’ world and join their team, averting forfeiture. By the climax of the game, the Tunes were down by one point and it was up to Michael to score the final basket for his team. Using the physics of of the Looney Tunes world by expending his arm, Michael manages to make the basket and win the game.

Enraged, Swackhammer ordered the Monstars to get in their spaceship, but they then realized that, since they were all now much bigger than their manager, he doesn’t control them any more. They squashe him into a rocket shape and shoot him up into space. The Looney Tunes forced the Monstars to give back the stolen talent. Reduced to Nerdlucks once more, they decided to remain in the Looney Tunes world, not wanting to return to Moron Mountain.

Afterwards, the Looney Tunes return Michael back to Earth, where he plays a baseball game. He later returns the stolen talent back to their respective owners, who prompt him to return to the NBA, mirroring his real-life comeback.
